Making friends is always hard to do. I remember first starting the radio program and thinking two things; I hope I make friends, and I hope this was the right choice. After a year of being with the people in the program I can gladly say that we all get along well. At first we didn’t know each other that well. After one class we all just left without saying bye and everyone was going their separate ways. It wasn’t until a few weeks in where we all started to hangout during the breaks. That was when we got to know each other and I am glad that we got to know each other because I can’t imagine the radio room without them. When I was first starting out I was ready for the possibility of not making friends. I was looking at all the first semesters and thinking to myself “I hope these people are nice.” I know people who do have great difficulty making a friend and that’s okay. My advice to them is to just ask someone in your class to go to lunch. It may be awkward at first, but listen after the awkwardness wears off you’ll have yourself a friend you can go to popeyes with. Friends really do have your back. I’m pretty sure I wouldn’t have survived the first semester if there wasn’t a helpful classmate I could turn to to know what was going on in a particular class. Making friends can be a challenge, but when making friends somethings needs to come first. You have to know their name before you can go to popeyes. No doubt though whoever you are you have the ability to make friends. It may not happen right away, but I assure you if you want to make friends then you will make friends. Just remember; be yourself and don’t be a character because you’re the person people want to be friends with.
