Today marks Canada’s fourth annual National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, a statutory holiday that comes out of Orange Shirt Day, which began as a grassroots indigenous effort to commemorate the crimes of Canada’s residential school system. On today’s episode we examine the truth of Canada’s colonial history, the meaning of reconciliation, and why September 30th has become a day for orange shirts. On this day of reflection and remembrance, each of us is tasked with making our own path to reconciliation a reality.
