Yes, you got that right. I know I wear these shirts all the time, but it’s not just for show. I love the Star Wars franchise. And one of my favourite movies is Star Wars Episode 3: Revenge of the Sith.
The movie was released on May 19th 2005 and grossed over $860 million against a $113 million budget. Those numbers are impressive, but that budget was put to great use with the stunning visuals and special effects, from a daring Space Dogfight sequence that starts the adventure off, to a stunning lightsaber fight with a dark lord. And that’s only the first half hour of the two-and-a-half-hour movie.
Visuals aside, the soundtrack is fantastic at conveying the story beats thanks to John Williams, who has composed every Star Wars Trilogy series. Of particular note is the music played during the climactic duel between Obi Wan Kenobi and the fallen Anakin as seen on the poster.
The acting has long been a point of criticism, specifically citing Hayden Christensen and Natalie Portman, but it’s because they were given dialogue that’s clunkier than my writing. They are still mostly convincing as their characters. Ewan MacGregor and Samuel L. Jackson gave much stronger performances as their respective characters Obi Wan and Mace Windu due to less awkward dialogue.
If you’re going to watch a Sci-Fi movie with a Fantasy blend, give Star Wars Episode 3: Revenge of the Sith a spin.
4/5 Stars.
