Hello everyone!
Long time no see…from the computer screens.
Christmas was exciting, being back in school is honestly a bit of a reality check but time only moves in one direction. How am I going to tie this into a blog instead of using this as filler? Beats me.
Speaking of beats, I was tuning into a few different radio stations and one show type that interested me was a rock radio station that played an entire hour of Led Zeppelin songs.
Yes, Led Zeppelin is one of the most famous bands of all time and Rock n’ Roll legends.
However, one complaint I see especially in radio, is that playlists play the exact same songs.
We hear it all the time: “Stairway to Heaven”, “Dazed and Confused”, “Whole Lotta Love”. They are great songs, don’t get me wrong, but they often say variety is the spice of life.
What I want to hear are the songs that I’ve never heard before. And this radio station, 97 Rock from Buffalo New York, was playing a variety of songs that I thought showed just how versatile and experimental Robert Plant and the gang were.
Unfortunately I did not note down some of the songs, but there was a song over 10-minutes called “Achilles Last Stand”, and I get that radio regulations here usually deny songs over 5 minutes and prefer radio edits to make space for commericals…but I still think that radio stations need to take a chance with music again.
