Catherine Mitchell Header

Catherine Mitchell is a 19-year-old student at Seneca Polytechnic. Catherine has a tight-knit family in Richmond Hill, Ontario, which consists of a brother who is five and a sister who is fourteen. Like most people, Catherine enjoys lazy days, which consist of sleeping in, watching TV, and basically doing nothing productive. She is very much a night owl, but when needed, she will be awake for whatever needs to be done. Catherine is an enthusiastic person who is interested in a variety of topics. She was very interested in science growing up and was originally planning to go into psychology because she liked the scientific reasoning behind why people do what they do. It didn’t last long before she realized that choosing universities and programs was too much for her. There had always been a part of her head that wanted to be heard and make a difference. Part of the reason she looked into psych was to make a difference. She landed on the radio because she wanted to be heard but also because she liked it and knew she could make a difference one way or another. She loves a variety of music and loves learning random facts, and if you’re lucky, you’ll get to hear a few.

I have now done a full two weeks of radio shows. The two weeks have been eventful. There's been a lot of stuff that has gone down on and off the air. Week one on-air went well. I was severely anxious to start, even though I had been at the station before and ran a show. I was still nervous because I would be doing it a...

Have you ever had someone who stands a little too close to you? It may seem all fine initially, or you may be uncomfortable. Unfortunately, I have had this happen too often recently. It doesn't seem to matter where I am, but I constantly have people standing very close to me, close enough that I can feel their breath a...

Starting live shows on air may seem nerve-racking, and that's because it is. No matter how many times you've been on, being on the air will always be slightly nerve-racking. Take it from me: I did three Seneca Open Houses, the first two with someone who had done it the year before and was teaching me what to do and how...
